Your Police and Crime Commissioner, Alun Michael, is an elected representative who works to ensure South Wales Police is running effectively.
Alun Michael became the first Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales on the 22nd November 2012, and was re-elected for a third term on the 9th May 2021.
The Commissioner's aim is to cut crime and to maintain an effective and efficient police service as well as holding the Chief Constable to account. The Commissioner is the 'voice of the public' and aims to ensure that the policing and safety concerns of our diverse communities are heard and addressed.
