White Ribbon Accreditation

White-Ribbon-Accreditation

Following the launch of the South Wales Tackling Violence against Women and Girls Plan in June 2014, South Wales Police (SWP) and the Commissioner’s Office have now achieved the first joint White Ribbon status.

White Ribbon aims to end men’s violence against women and girls by changing the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate this violence, and promoting the positive role men play in preventing it.

The joint commitment of Chief Constable, Peter Vaughan and Police and Crime Commissioner, Alun Michael to tackle and address the issue of violence against women, has been acknowledged by The White Ribbon Campaign UK. As ambassadors they can use their roles and experience to speak out and take action to prevent male violence against women, pledging to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women.
